Dirty Laundry II - Come see!

KataGender is not perfoming at the gig, but a KataGender installation will be put up nearby. Some of you may recognise this image:

So if you'll be in the area, drop by after for the KataGender installation - the provocative Dirty Laundry street exhibition will be making a reappearance there, and flyers will be handed out.

Tomboy Photo Project

We're proud of our women just they way they are!

Dismantle the hype on how women should look. This is a our proud montage of women that have been ludicrously named as "tomboys".

Sift through your albums and join our campaign! We're making a picture of diversity that makes up Malaysian women. Send us a photograph of working women, in uniforms, in factory clothings, historical figures, sportswomen, our grandmothers, mothers, ourselves...as long as it is all from Malaysia (whatever you perceive as Malaysian).

We dedicate this campaign to the cool "tomboys" out there: 'We are proud of our women just the way they are!'

- Person in photograph (e.g. This is my grandmother who was a police officer in 1950, or just Anon (if you don't want to be credited or the photo was taken from a public source)

We know that challenging rigid sexuality and gender codes can be risky, even if it really doesn't make sense at all. So as far as you can, please get full consent of anyone in the pix :)

There is no deadline for sending in the photos but there is a starting line, and it starts now. so what you waiting for? Go ransack some albums!! :)
