We are driven by the need to dismantle systems that perpetuate fear and hatred of "the other" and justify violence; we denounce all systems that generate exclusion and reinforce domination.

Tomboy Photo Project
We're proud of our women just they way they are!
Dismantle the hype on how women should look. This is a our proud montage of women that have been ludicrously named as "tomboys".
Sift through your albums and join our campaign! We're making a picture of diversity that makes up Malaysian women. Send us a photograph of working women, in uniforms, in factory clothings, historical figures, sportswomen, our grandmothers, mothers, ourselves...as long as it is all from Malaysia (whatever you perceive as Malaysian).
We dedicate this campaign to the cool "tomboys" out there: 'We are proud of our women just the way they are!'

Details of photo:
- Person in photograph (e.g. This is my grandmother who was a police officer in 1950, or just Anon (if you don't want to be credited or the photo was taken from a public source)
- Photographer (Jamal, ice-kacang seller)
- Lokasi (e.g. Pahang)
- Max photo size: 50kB
Or tag existing photos as: "tomboy photo project" and send us a notice.
We know that challenging rigid sexuality and gender codes can be risky, even if it really doesn't make sense at all. So as far as you can, please get full consent of anyone in the pix :)
There is no deadline for sending in the photos but there is a starting line, and it starts now. so what you waiting for? Go ransack some albums!! :)
